Biography

Robert Jason Elowitch was an American professional wrestler known by his ring name, Robbie Ellis. He competed in independent circuits in New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and Europe, and was also the co-owner of Barridoff Auctions. Throughout his career, he appeared in media outlets such as Sports Illustrated, The Today Show, and MTV's True Life. He began his career in 2000, wrestling for several promotions like Chikara and Pro Wrestling America. In 2007, at the age of 64, he was the oldest wrestler on the roster of Italian Championship Wrestling. In 2010, a documentary about his life, titled "Canvasman: The Robbie Ellis Story", was released. In 2014, he returned to Chikara as part of a new storyline. He passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 82.
