Overview
El hilo dorado (2021) is a Spanish social drama directed and written by Tomás Aceituno. The film follows Cristina, a young lawyer who takes on the case of grandparents seeking to regain custody of their granddaughter placed in foster care. As the case unfolds, Cristina confronts memories of her own childhood spent in a juvenile center. The narrative is inspired by real events and was filmed in Linares, Jaén, Aceituno's hometown. The cast includes Cristina Mediero, Paco Roma, Eva Pedraza, Amanda Ferrer, and others. The film's main theme, also titled "El hilo dorado," is performed by renowned flamenco singer Estrella Morente.
